Live emergency update on Tropical Storm Ian that is now forecast to reach category 4 status in the eastern Gulf of Mexico while passing west of the Florida Peninsula early to middle next week. Forecast track has been shifting west today toward Northwest Florida. Ian could drift inland over the Southeast US and even southern Appalachians through next week and become a mega flood event. I will be activating live storm chase mode for this storm.
